Humanities Project

Under its Human Service Project, our society works with compassion and dedication to serve some of the most vulnerable groups in Bhopal. With the generous support of the public, we provide food, clothing, medicines, and essential medical assistance to needy cancer patients and their families. Cancer treatment is often physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting. For many patients, the challenge is not just fighting the disease but also meeting day-to-day needs while undergoing treatment. Our volunteers regularly visit cancer wards in hospitals such as AIIMS Bhopal, Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital, and Hamidia Hospital to deliver fresh meals, seasonal fruits, blankets in winter, and other daily-use items.

We also extend our care to the families of cancer patients, who often stay near hospitals for long durations during treatment. In places like the temporary lodgings near Hamidia Hospital or rental rooms around JP Hospital, our teams distribute grocery kits, ready-to-eat food packets, and basic hygiene items. Alongside material support, we provide a listening ear and emotional comfort, reassuring them that they are not alone in their struggle.

Another significant part of the Human Service Project is awareness campaigns for cancer prevention. With the help of doctors, oncologists, and public health specialists, we organize talks, interactive workshops, and screening camps. These sessions are often conducted in community halls, government schools, and public parks across different areas of Bhopal, such as TT Nagar, Piplani, and Kolar. Topics include early detection, healthy lifestyle practices, and myths related to cancer. By bringing medical experts into direct conversation with the public, we hope to encourage regular health check-ups and preventive care.

Our compassion-driven work is not limited to cancer patients. We also reach out to newborn babies and new mothers. Society members visit hospitals such as Sultania Zanana Hospital and Mother & Child Health Centres to distribute newborn care kits. These kits include baby clothes, blankets, diapers, feeding bottles, and sometimes nutritional supplements for mothers. For new mothers from low-income families, we also provide sanitary pads, soap, and other hygiene items, ensuring both mother and baby receive the care they need in those crucial early days.

Beyond medical support, our Human Service Project extends to senior citizens living in old-age homes. Our members and supporters run service projects at different old-age homes across Bhopal, including Anand Dham Vridhashram, Apna Ghar, and Missionaries of Charity Home. Senior citizens in these facilities often miss the warmth of family life, so our visits are aimed at bringing both material support and emotional joy. We provide nutritious meals, seasonal clothing, woollen blankets in winter, and other essentials like footwear and toiletries.

Just as important is the effort to brighten their days with cultural and interactive activities. Our volunteers organize musical sessions, devotional singing, poetry recitals, and informal talks. We celebrate festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Independence Day with them, ensuring they feel a sense of belonging and joy. Through laughter, music, and heartfelt conversations, we try to make them feel valued and loved.

The Human Service Project is, at its core, about creating a circle of care that reaches from hospital beds to old-age home verandas, from newborns to those in their twilight years. In every part of Bhopal—whether in the bustling lanes of Chowk, the quiet neighbourhoods of Shahpura, or the hospital corridors of Hamidia—we strive to stand beside those who need compassion the most.
